The Invitational Shootout was first held on June 25, 1996 at The Links at Carillion in Plainfield, Illinois. The spartan field consisted of 8 two-person teams competing for nothing more than pride and the enjoyment of the game. The first Shootout included no sponsors, no prizes and no website.
The modern day Invitational Shootout has evolved into a much larger event with an even greater cause. The underlying purpose of the Tournament is still to have fun among friends and family.
However, The Shootout has also become a tremendous vehicle to help support numerous local charitable causes. Through the overwhelming efforts of the organizers, sponsors, volunteers and participants the Invitational Shootout has been able to raise over $100,000 for these organizations.
We look forward to keeping this tradition alive and sharing it with an even larger audience. We also hope to continue supporting our selected charities and the deserving people they helps on a daily basis.
